The hunt for Osama Bin Laden was one of those crusades by the American Government that was always going to be a controversial one. The mastermind behind 9/11, and the leader of al-Qaeda, Bin Laden had been turned into the poster boy for the "War On Terror", as if all the hurt and suffering would end when he was finally brought to justice. But what would be considered justice for the Saudi born terrorist leader? How do you find a suitable punishment for someone who killed nearly 3000 people, you can only kill him once?… AKA “Code Name: Geronimo. “ This was average for a film of this genre. Zero Dark Thirty was much better. There's always a special place for war, raid, carry-out-mission, marines related films in my heart. This too makes it's way in it, This is just how it went down Exactly what you are thinking As Zero Dark Thirty this movie deals with the assault on the hide out of Osama Bin Laden and it does it in a semi-documentary Zero Dark Thirty succeeded in visualizing the long and frustrating years and the efforts undertaken, this movie doesn't achieve that didn't evoke any emotional response other than being bored. Quite frankly this movie was rather unnecessary. Much like every movie this feels much longer than it is, is functionally the equivalent of television static, and I feel like I've gained nothing, no experience, emotion, elevation beyond a mere moment lost in the black hole of sargossa on my slow drag into oblivionFive stars I’m a sucker for a good war film. There are some great ones that are loosely based on real events, but I can never seem to find a good one that’s based solely on true events... with the exception of Hacksaw Ridge and maybe a couple story of Seal Team Six is wonderful, but this film doesn’t necessarily keep me invested and anxious... I am 100% certain that these men and women involved in the raid were on edge for months leading up to this. I feel like this film only reached into about 25% of that subpar cast and unappealing production and script. Good insight on how the Americans disposed of Bin Laden Discount Zero Dark Thirty. William Fichtner raises everything up a notch.
